This is going to show up above the post i am responding to. there was no 'reply' link in your post, or guitar mikal's to yours for some reason. but at any rate...
@moonshelle: I don't have a "book" nor have I ever tried to qualify my definition of 'peace, love, and understanding.' Prolly won't start today either.
But I will say this: if you have read all the posts in this thread in order (tough when people don't always click on the right 'reply' link. Avoidable, but it happens) i hope you'd see that I am not down talking anyone's position. I had just found some interesting info on Sinead and shared it. (ie: O'Connor not being ordained in the RCC, but the ICC and her continued career in music as a Rastafarian.) And when guitar mikal (a VERY good friend of mine, btw) made the comment about the use of papist by a group known for hate, I just wanted to point out that the word itself is harmless and descibes a group of people who share at least that one belief. He was not comparing me to a klanner, but I knew that because I know g.m.
I'm not sure what you meant when you asked that, honestly. Maybe you could expound a little on waht you want me to answer specifically. I'd be glad to help you understand where I am coming from.
I think peace is achieved through understanding. Understanding is achieved through respect, and respect is demonstrated by calling a person or a group by the name they call themselves.
One cannot influence those they alienate. That is the mistake Sinead made on Television. Her disrespect alienated most of the people who would have responded to her.
I am new to Rainbow, and I appreciate everyone has their own vision of what Rainbow is, but I thought it was about embracing everyone with respect and understanding for the purpose of peace in the name of love.
Thank you for embracing me. I love you.
